Assembly on School Development Plan 2017-2020
“Revisiting the Past, Connecting to the Future” is the theme of the School Development Plan of 2017-2020. Marking the 2nd school year of the plan, our Principal, Mr. Kwan, evaluated the implementation of the plan in the previous school year as well as shared new targets with all students and staff in the afternoon assembly of 7 September. Inauguration of Prefects 2018
The inauguration ceremony for the 71 students elected as prefects for the school year 2018-2019 took place during the morning assembly on 5th September 2018. In their inauguration speech, the two Head Prefects pledged on behalf of the Prefect Board to serve the school wholeheartedly. The newly-inaugurated prefects are responsible for maintaining discipline among students to ensure a conducive atmosphere for learning.
Opening Service 2018
With the beginning of the school year 2018-2019, the Opening Service was held at the School Hall by the Principal and the Vice-principals on 3 September. Our Principal, Mr. Kwan, shared with teachers and students his appreciation for the Farewell Day, updates of the Ying Wa Redevelopment Project and good news from two alumnae, Ms. Ma Wing Yu and Ms.
S1 Orientation Day for 2018 – 2019
We are delighted to have new S1 students joining our Ying Wa family. In order to help them adapt to the new environment, an S1 Orientation Day was arranged on 28 August 2018. It began with a welcoming speech by our Principal, Mr.
馬詠茹校友夥拍李慧詩、李燕燕，亞運團體爭先賽奪銀牌
2018年8月27日，馬詠茹校友以香港單車隊代表的身分出戰雅加達亞運會團體爭先賽。馬詠茹在初賽夥拍師姐李慧詩，踩出兩人的最佳時間，以33秒484排名第二，順利晉身決賽；在決賽夥拍李燕燕，以35秒024獲得銀牌。馬詠茹首次出戰亞運，表現出色，香港單車隊總教練沈金康十分讚賞：「沒有馬詠茹的進步，就算李慧詩再快，我們也沒能以第二名入決賽，也就贏不了銀牌。」李慧詩亦讚賞馬詠茹心理狀態穩定，能發揮應有水準。馬詠茹首次踏上亞運會頒獎台，直言感覺難以置信和感動，並感謝李慧詩不斷鼓勵和在技術及備戰方面的指導。為了迎戰兩年後的東京奧運，馬詠茹努力裝備自己，期望在奧運積分爭奪戰能延續好表現。

Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme 2018/19
YIP Pui Lam, a Ying Wa graduate of 2018, has been recently awarded the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme 2018/19 (offered by the Education Bureau). The scholarship supports outstanding local students to pursue their studies in world-renowned universities outside Hong Kong, with a view to grooming a top cadre of talents with global visions, international networks and world-class education. Pui Lam will be studying the Bachelor of Laws at the University College London.

HLYA Programme - Champion - Tour to Tokyo
Thanks to the guidance of the Careers Committee, a team of six Secondary 5 girls Hang Lung Young Architects (HLYA) Programme completed from October 2017 to June 2018. They went through different rounds of competitions and were finally awarded the champion. The winning team and Ms. Yip Ngar Sze, the teacher in-charge of Ying Wa, were offered the opportunity to go to Tokyo, from 19th to 22nd August, to further broaden their horizons. In the tour, they learnt from a wide variety of topics, ranging from Japanese architecture to the local culture of Japan. The tour was beneficial in letting students learn how Japanese architects merge technology, nature, novel and traditional ideas in a harmonious way.
Adelaide Australia Global Citizenship Programme 2018
Seven S2-3 students were successful in going through all the interviews and were recruited to join the Adelaide Australia Global Citizenship Programme 2018 organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) – Youth Exchange Unit (香港青年協會 – 青年交流部) from 5 to 15 August 2018. Students were engaged in exchange and homestay programmes with local secondary school students and households. Meanwhile, they had an up-close look at Aussie animals like kangaroos, koalas and wallabies and visited the University of Adelaide and the Parliament House.
