First Floor Plain Talk - Chinese Speech Platform
The Civic Education Committee and the Chinese Language Department co-organised a language activity on 9 March, namely “First Floor, Plain Talk – Chinese Speech Platform”, to encourage students to make public speeches on stage. Students of both junior and senior forms were recruited on a voluntary basis. Participants underwent a preliminary round before emerging in the final round held in the School Hall. A training session was held for all participants by Mr Lam Tsz Fung, a representative of the Chinese Debating Team at the Baptist University of Hong Kong. Not only did the activity help our students withtheir public speaking skills, it also encouraged the audience to develop their critical thinking by examining issues from different perspectives.
