Good Class Scheme
The Good Class Scheme organised by the Prefect Board completed phase one in January 2014. Marks were given to classes based on students' behaviour, classroom cleanliness and performance in Reading Award Scheme. 3D and 6D were the champion in the junior and senior section respectively.

Sham Shui Po Historic Tour
Dr Joseph Ting (丁新豹博士) led 50 Ying Wa students and teachers in a guided tour on 17 Jan 2014 to visit and talk about the stories of different old buildings and historical sites at Sham Shui Po, such as Sham Shui Po Police Station, Yen Chow Street Hawker Bazaar, Sham Shui Po Park (former Shum Shui Po Camp), Sham Shui Po Public Dispensary (Grade III historic building) etc.. It was an educational guided tour strolling in the vicinities in Sham Shui Po with a better understanding of the past and the present in the district.

Humen Tour
The Civic Education Committee, History Department and Chinese History Department organized a trip (one day) in Humen (11th Jan., 2014) for 30 S3 students to deepen the understanding of the First Opium War and observe the recent development of infrastructure in Dongguan. While returning to Hong Kong, a quiz session was arranged in the coach to consolidate students’ historical knowledge.

5 students were awarded medals in the Hong Kong OIympiad in Informatics (HKOI) 2014.

Moral and Civic Education Award
Ying Wa Girls’ School was awarded by the Yan Chai Hospital Moral and Civic Education Fund in December 2013 to subsidize the school-based programme, “Service Tour - Migrant Workers’ Children in Zhongzhan” (to be held in June 2014). The Civic Education Committee will organize the Service Tour and 30 S4 and S5 students are to be recruited to learn the “San-nong Issue” as well as organizing activities for the migrant workers’ children in Zhongzhan.

Bone Marrow Donor
Ariel Lam Yi-tak, graduate of Ying Wa, signed up as a bone marrow donor to help a friend but ended up helping a man she has never met. Story from SCMP…
