S1 History Visit to HK Museum of Art
On November 29, the History Department organised a visit for all S1 students to the Hong Kong Museum of Art (香港藝術館). This visit aimed to provide an enriching learning experience focused on Chinese history and culture within the context of cultural security, through a variety of artistic exhibits. Students explored several exhibitions within the museum, viewing an invaluable selection of nearly 100 handpicked artworks from the museum’s core collections that showcase a diverse world of art. They also engaged with displays of China trade art that highlight the historical exchanges between China and the West, as well as works by renowned Chinese ink artist Wu Guanzhong (吳冠中), experiencing his unique techniques that blend traditional and modern styles. The visit enhanced their knowledge and offered unique experiences in art and cultural appreciation, featuring artworks, artefacts, interactive displays, and immersive installations, all of which extended their learning beyond the classroom.
