Speech Day 2024 (Album 2)
The annual Speech Day took place on July 9 at the Silcocks Hall. Mr Francis Kwan, our Principal, warmly welcomed parents and congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of secondary school. We were privileged to have Dr Libby Lee (李夏茵醫生), JP, an alumna and the Under Secretary for Health at the Health Bureau (醫務衞生局副局長) of the HKSAR, PRC, as one of our distinguished guests.
In her inspiring address, Dr Lee shared insights from our school motto, urging students to dream big, embrace new possibilities, and learn from different experiences. She emphasised the importance of lifelong growth and having faith. Her impactful words motivated students to approach their futures with resilience, prayerfulness, and the courage to try.
Representing the graduating classes, Lau Hok Yau (6D) delivered a heartfelt valedictorian speech. Reflecting on their journey from the humble beginnings at the Shamshuipo decanting site to the modernized campus at Robinson Road, Hok Yau highlighted the lessons of resilience and the importance of upholding Christian principles. The support of the school, parents, and friends throughout their time at Ying Wa was gratefully acknowledged. Hok Yau made a promise on behalf of the graduates to live with integrity, passion, and the understanding that failures pave the path to success.
The Speech Day was further enlivened by our Choir, impressing the audience with their beautiful performance of ‘We have sung the voices of the world’. It was a wonderful evening, filled with pride from students, staff, parents, and friends who all contributed to the success of the Speech Day. We extend our heartfelt best wishes to our graduates as they embark on new journeys in life.
