Okinawa Tour with 20 Awarded Tickets

The Civic Education Committee and the Global Exposure Committee joined hands to plan an itinerary in Japan, in a competition organized by Hong Kong Airlines. Ying Wa was among the 150 shortlisted schools / NGOs, and won 20 return tickets to Okinawa, Japan. An exchange tour was held from 16 to 20 July with the themes of nature and foreign influences and the impact of WWII on Okinawa. A visit to a local secondary school was arranged to deepen students’ understanding of the Okinawa culture.

EIE Robotic Challenge Junior 2017: Robot Hunter

Four S4 students participated in a robotics competition which was held by the Department of Electronics & Information Engineering Department (EIE), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  Our team won the First-Class Prize, showing that girls can excel at robotics.  The EIE provided workshops for participating students to develop their robots. Full Scholarship to study at Oxford University - Ms Ma Ming-yan Carissa

Ma Ming-yan Carissa, a S6 graduate of Ying Wa in 2012, completed her undergraduate study with outstanding results in the Department of English of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.  She was on the Dean's List in 2013, 2014 and 2016, and recently awarded the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholarship 2017 to pursue a postgraduate degree, Master of Studies in English Studies, at Somerville College in Oxford University.  In a recent interview with Ming Pao, Carissa shared about the importance of developing a habit of reading to learn a language well.  She was a keen writer and...

Chan Samantha of 2C was named the BOCHK Rising Star Athlete 2016-2017. This annual award is presented to outstanding C Grade athletes who have contributed actively to their schools and achieved significant results in sports. Ms Tang Ho-ling Helen

Ms Tang Ho-ling Helen, a YW S7 graduate of 2010, is a composer and music arranger for film, television and video games.  Now, she is pursuing a Master's Degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games at the Berklee College of Music, Valencia.  She is also the recipient of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Music Scholarship 2016, the Berklee General Scholarship and the Macau Postgraduate Scholarship.  She recently recorded her musical piece, "Eternity", in London AIR studios with a 50-piece orchestra.  View Tang Ho-ling Helen's musical piece "Eternity...

Our school team player, Chan Wing Yin (5A) was a recipient of the Outstanding Athlete (Volleyball) of Grantham Outstanding Student Athlete Awards 2016-2017.  Organised by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation, it aims at encouraging Hong Kong athletes to strive for excellence, promote a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude, and cultivate a sporting culture within schools.
