European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics 2025
Leung Hilary (3D) received a bronze medal, while Man Cho Yan (5C) earned an honorable mention at the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI) 2025. For the first time, the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education sent an all-girls team to compete at the EGOI, held in Bonn, Germany. Of the four delegates, three were from Ying Wa, including Leung Hilary (3D), Chau Tsz Ying (4D), and Man Cho Yan (5C).
The week-long event took place from July 14 to 20, 2025, and included an opening ceremony, two days of intense competition, a closing ceremony, and various cultural exchange activities. On each contest day, participants had five hours to solve four challenging algorithmic problems set by the organisers, pushing their programming and problem-solving skills to the limit. Facing strong international competitors, the Hong Kong girls’ team demonstrated remarkable resilience and tenacity. They competed alongside over 200 top contestants from over 50 countries/regions and brought home two bronze medals and an honorable mention, marking a brilliant debut for Hong Kong in this competition.

Musical Performance of 125th Anniversary
Ying Wa successfully staged “A Stargazer’s Fantasy” to celebrate the school’s 125th anniversary. The production, featuring an original script and lyrics created with great dedication by the musical team, offered students a valuable learning experience. Through acting, orchestral performance, and singing, students developed their creativity, teamwork, and confidence. Engaging with the musical’s themes of survival, nature, and greed deepened their understanding and personal growth. Performed on July 18 and 19, 2025 at the Lyric Theatre, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the event was a meaningful highlight of the anniversary celebrations.

School Redevelopment

After a long journey, Ying Wa has eventually embarked on a new page of its history in mid-March 2019 with the “Big Move” from the decanting site of Sham Shui Po back to our home – the Robinson Road Campus.
Our new campus provides state-of-the-art technologies and an ideal spacious learning environment. We will certainly use them to the best advantage. Yet, what we treasure most is not the glamourous campus, but the all-round, Christian education that we provide – nurture the young minds our inherited core values and equip them to transform, to reach new heights and to meet the challenges of the contemporary society.
