Sharing by Ethnic Minorities

With the facilitation of CEDAR Fund (施達基金會) and the Urdu Neighbour Centre (烏都鄰舍中心), two Muslim ladies of Pakistani origin and one lady of Indian origin visited each of the S6 Liberal Studies class in November 2019.  Through casual chatting and discussion, students got to know the reasons why they came to Hong Kong, challenges they faced here and things they appreciated the most.  What’s more, students were able to clear up misconceptions they had long been holding regarding the mysterious ethnic minorities, such as the rules of wearing a hijab, freedom of marriage or the consequences of eating pork “by accident”.  It was indeed an eye-opening and valuable experience!
