History & Heritage Talk by Prof TING Sun-pao Joseph (2025)
Being one of the most distinguished experts of recent Chinese and Hong Kong history, Professor Ting Sun-pao Joseph (丁新豹博士) not only is the former Chief Curator of the Hong Kong Museum of History, but he is also our school’s History and Heritage Education Consultant. It was our great honour to have him share with us the educational development and the role of different churches in Hong Kong before 1935 on November 14, 2025. He highlighted how various Catholic and Protestant churches provided local education services, helping to expand access to schooling and nurture community values. Apart from that, students and teachers from two other secondary schools (Pooi To Middle School & Queen Elizabeth School) were also invited to attend the talk. His educational and engaging presentation was indeed eye-opening and insightful. Through his perspectives, we gained a deeper understanding of how education and faith communities shaped Hong Kong’s social development.
