Talk by New Principal - My Days in YW
During the morning assembly on September 17, our new Principal, Ms Chuk Wai Kan Tiffany, bonded with students and teachers by fondly recalling her days at Ying Wa (YW). Her father knew right away that YW was the right choice for her, as he was impressed by the students’ warm and elegant manner during his visit to the school. Upon entering S1, Ms Chuk vividly remembered how the former Principal, Mrs Lee, emphasized the importance of the school song and school hymn, which touched her deeply whenever those songs were sung. Her school days were filled with joy, from singing and dancing to building lasting friendships.

3D Model Design Competition - Champion
Four S5 students achieved outstanding results in the “Second 3D Model Design Competition”, themed "Hong Kong Culture (香港文化)". Their 3D model, titled "Four Warriors of the Walled City (城寨四少)", earned them the Champion Award and the Best Presentation Award.

Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was successfully held on October 25, 2025. Ms Chan Po Chu, Chairperson of the PTA, warmly welcomed all parents and teachers and shared highlights from the past school year. These included the Parents’ Academy, a farewell lunch for S6 students, Students’ Day game stalls, and a variety of parent volunteer activities.

Visit to the "Lost and Found in Hong Kong" Exhibition
On October 23, a group of 28 S4 History students, organized by the History Department, visited the "Lost and Found in Hong Kong (唐樓中的二戰日記)" exhibition at HKUST, hosted by the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre. The exhibition commemorates the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, focusing on the unsung Chinese heroes of the Normandy landings. Students engaged with the docent, Ms Teresa Mak, learning about the contributions of Chinese naval officials during the Normandy landings and how they were trained alongside the Allied Powers during WWII. This experience deepened students' understanding of history and encouraged critical thinking about diverse perspectives in historical narratives.

Sharing by Interact Club
YWGS continues to embody the spirit of “Yes We Go and Serve” and “to serve, not to be served.” Once again, the Interact Clubs of Ying Wa College and our school collaborated to organize a community service project called “深緒情緣” in Sham Shui Po. Participants had the opportunity to engage with underprivileged members of the community, including tenants of sub-divided flats, cleaning workers, cardboard collectors, and the homeless. These meaningful interactions offered students a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged individuals in our society.

Red Cross Youth First Aid Competition (Central & Western District) 2025-2026
On October 19, 2025, two teams of Ying Wa students from Hong Kong Red Cross Youth Unit 11 took part in the Central and Western (C&W) District Youth First Aid Competition. They showcased their knowledge of first aid skills in a “First Aid Skill Challenge” and a “Stimulated First Aid Competition”.
Team A was crowned Champion in the “First Aid Skills Challenge”, Champion in the “Stimulated First Aid Competition”, and thus the “Overall Champion” of the competition. Team B also won the “Overall 2nd Runner-up” award of the competition.
Additionally, the leader of Team A, 4B Cheung Hoi Kei, won the title of the “Best Leader of the Stimulated First Aid Competition”.

STEAM Tour to Zhuhai
On October 18, 2025, a group of 25 students from S1 to S3 went on a STEAM study tour to Zhuhai. The morning session was a workshop titled AI-driven - Short Video Creation. The session introduced digital marketing concepts and the latest trends in digital creativity. Students learned to use AI tools for generating scripts and story outlines, and then worked in groups on the practical tasks of planning, filming, and editing a short video, which enhanced their digital literacy and teamwork skills.

Inter-school Swimming Competition 2025
The School Swimming Team has made a remarkable splash at the recent Inter-school Swimming Competition (Division II, Girls). The first round unfolded on October 9, culminating in an exhilarating final on October 16. With great pride, the team claimed the C Grade Champion title and emerged as the Overall Champion of the competition.
This outstanding achievement is a testament to the swimmers’ immense skill and unwavering determination, illuminating their capacity to thrive in a fiercely competitive arena. Their dedication to rigorous preparation and training has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in their success at this esteemed event.
