Chinese Dance Team Awards

Our Senior and Junior Chinese Dance Teams have once again made us proud with their outstanding achievements and dedication in recent dance competitions.

At the Dance World Cup 2026 Hong Kong Qualifying Match held at Youth Square, the senior team earned the Silver Award for their performance, while the junior team took home the Bronze Award, marking a successful start to the competition season.

The success continued at the 62nd Schools Dance Festival, our junior dancers achieved the prestigious Honours Award, while our senior dancers were presented with the Highly Commended Award.  Furthermore, we are delighted to celebrate the exceptional individual performances of our soloists at the same festival.  Luk Mei Yue Melissa (4C) received the Honours Award for her captivating solo, and Yu Yan Yu (4E) was recognised with the Highly Commended Award for her expressive routine.   These results reflect the immense effort and spirit our dancers bring to every performance.

Our junior dancers’ performance of “The Laundry Song” used the rhythmic movements of traditional cloth-beating to recreate the daily lives and heartfelt aspirations of Dong girls.   In the senior category, “Story of Orchid” drew inspiration from the natural world, using the elegant form of the orchid to symbolise the development of a noble and virtuous character.   Finally, the senior team also captured the poignant heartbreak and lifelong devotion of Huizhou merchant wives in “A Deep Longing”, waiting for their husbands to return from afar.
