HKSS Debating Competition District Final (Champion)

The S5 Debate Team emerged as the champion of the Hong Kong & Kowloon District Division I Final on 28 June 2017 after winning five out of six rounds in the Hong Kong Secondary Schools Debating Competition (HKSSDC) this year. Debaters in the final match include Chan Ying Ying Leticia (5E), Chan Lok Yu Zoe (5A) and Yip Pui Lam Regina (5D). Debaters involved in previous rounds of the competition include Lai Cheuk Yi (5A), Wun Yuet Tung Natalie (5A), Cheng Tsz Ki (5B), Lau Tak Yi (5B), Chan Cheuk Yee (5C), Ho Cheuk Yee (5D), Lee Hiu Yui (5D) and Ng Ying Tung (5D).

In the process they boosted their confidence in public speaking and enjoyed the challenge of thinking on their feet when debating a wide range of topics related to local and international social, political and environmental issues.
