YWGSAA Newsletter (Web version, 6th Issue)
The cover stories include the fund-raising drama 2018 and the lunch gathering with Miss Evelyn Jenkins, our 5th Principal. In this issue, there are many interesting articles which include the reunion news of classes of 1957, 1967, 1972 & 1977. There is also happy news from different corners of the world, including Toronto, Vancouver, North and South California, Sydney, Seattle, London, Germany and South Korea. Last but not least, we are glad to share a lovely article contributed by our former Principal, Mrs Ruth Lee.

Alumnae Association Newsletter (February 2018)
YWGSAA Newsletter - The cover story is on the fund-raising drama to be held on 29 June 2018. In this issue, there are many interesting articles including a report on the progress of the school redevelopment and the preparation for moving back to our Robinson Road campus, AA Picnic Day, STEM education in Ying Wa, reunion news of classes of 1957, 1967, 1972 & 1977, interviews of Ms Ho (何慧姚老師) & Mrs Wang (王劉曼慈老師) etc.

Awards of C&W District Nursing Competition 2018
Teams from our Red Cross Youth Unit 11 were both the champion and the 2nd Runner-up in the Hong Kong Red Cross Central & Western (C&W) District Nursing Competition held on 11 February. The aim of the competition is to enhance the technique and interest in nursing among young members and to provide an opportunity for the members to share their experience in nursing.

Global Awareness Week 2018
Building on the success of last year's 'Global Awareness Week', the Global Exposure Committee brought the programme back again for students to gain exposure and develop a sense of global citizenship. Held from 5 to 9 February, guests of different nationalities came to share their cultures and experiences with S1-3 students. During this week, students in all forms had the opportunity to participate in the 'Global Village' and the 'Global Week Workshops' where they played games, sampled different cuisines and languages, and interacted with people from different countries and cultures.

National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces 2017/18
Our students have once again done us proud. Lee Ching Laam (5A) and Au Sui Yu (5D) made a significant achievement in the National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP) 2017/18 and they were awarded the silver medal. It is the second year that Ying Wa won this prize.

Awards of Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics 2017/18
6 senior form students were awarded with medals in the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics 2017/18 and Ying Wa is again the top performing girls' school in Hong Kong. They are invited to join the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics Training Team for intensive training. A Team Formation Test is to be held in May to select delegates for up-coming contests held outside Hong Kong.

Your STEAM Campus Taster Programme
More than sixty S3 students visited The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Morrison Hill) to participate in an art programme known as “Your STEAM Campus IVE (Morrison Hill) Taster Programme”. Students were given the opportunity to use technology to experience the interiordesign process with the aid of online home design software. Students were asked to create, furnish and show their 2D and 3D home designs for an actual floor plan of one of the private estates in Hong Kong. What’s more, students explored the Virtual Reality experience with an innovative presentation.

文學考察活動 ─ 「筆述我城他與她」
本校15位中一及中二同學參加由香港中文大學香港文學研究中心主辦的考察活動 ─ 「筆述我城他與她:初中學生文學景點考察」計劃。計劃的目的是通過主題式文學景點考察,帶學生走入社區,關心身邊的人和事,發掘寫作靈感。1月20日,青年作家梁莉姿小姐帶領25位參加者在石硤尾和深水埗進行考察活動,之後有作品賞析及寫作指導。同學在過程中得以擴闊眼界,並能培養對文學的興趣及提高寫作能力,獲益良多。
