英華籃球隊(丙組)於港島區學界比賽獲得冠軍。同時,英華籃球隊贏得本年度(2023-2024)全場總冠軍。香港學界體育聯會 2023-2024年度頒獎典禮於5月27日在英華女學校禮堂舉行。我們為英華籃球隊的出色表現而感到由衷欣喜。

History Talk by Dr Kwong Chi Man 2024

Dr Kwong Chi Man (鄺智文), an esteemed Hong Kong historian, visited YW to deliver a captivating talk on his digital history projects, with a specific focus on Hong Kong during World War II.  Dr Kwong completed his early education at Ying Wa College and obtained a bachelor's degree in History from The CUHK.  He furthered his academic career at the University of Cambridge, earning his Ph.D. from the Faculty of East Asian Studies and Middle Eastern Studies.  Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Presentation by Eco Amigos

During the morning assembly on May 22, Eco Amigos, a group of 19 students dedicated to environmental action, addressed the theme "Save Our Earth in Action!"  They shared their recent waste audit report, highlighting the detrimental impact of improper waste disposal on Hong Kong's beautiful beaches and countryside.  The students raised awareness about the urgent need to address landfill expansion into urban areas.  They also introduced various facilities, such as recycling shops and plastic bottle recycling machines, as well as the option of lunchbox borrowing at HK Station.  Their presentation aimed to inspire fellow schoolmates to take a proactive role in protecting the environment.

Sharing by Ms Gladys Mattras at S4 CSD Lessons

The Citizenship & Social Development (CSD) Department was very pleased to have invited alumna Ms Gladys Mattras (S4 graduate, 2019) to share with all the S4 classes on May 21 and 22, 2024.  She had a ‘big sister chat’ with the girls on embracing and accepting who they were.  Starting off by asking students their impressions of mixed kids, she helped clear up common stereotypes and misconceptions by relating to the confusions and challenges she faced both in France and in Hong Kong as a Eurasian.  She delved more deeply into identity issues and shared how she struggled to search for her sense of identity.  Now she happily embraced both the French and Chinese cultures in becoming her unique culture.  To wrap up, she encouraged students to li

Ng Yuen Fong (6D) and Cheng Sze Wai (6E) were awarded the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Prizes 2023/24.  These prestigious prizes are designed to support exceptional students in their educational pursuits and promote the holistic development of Hong Kong's youth. Homecoming Concert (Album 2)

The Music Department organized the Homecoming Concert on May 18 at the Silcocks Hall, which provided an opportunity for students and the Alumnae Choir to showcase their talents.  The event was attended by teachers, parents, alumnae, and friends of Ying Wa, who were treated to a magnificent performance by the String Orchestra, Junior Choir, Senior Choir, Alumnae Choir, Chamber String Orchestra, Piano Quintet, and Percussion Ensemble.  The success of the performance owes itself to the hard work and dedication of all the performers involved.  The audience was captivated by the enchanting melodies that filled the hall, leaving them spellbound.
