Guangzhou Leadership Training Tour

Six S5 students from the Prefect Board and the Civic Education Committee organised a student-centred tour (19-21 April, 2019) with two teachers to explore the history and heritage of Guangzhou, China.  The 3-day-2-night tour allowed students to know more about the history of The Thirteen Hongs, the development of Christianity and the role of the former Soviet Union in shaping Chinese manufacturing development after 1949 etc.  Students took the initiative to design the itinerary and they visited all the historical sites on public transport.  With the guidance from teachers, students developed a sense of ownership towards the search of history knowledge and a deeper understanding towards the present-day development of Guangzhou which further strengthened their learning, problem-solving and leadership skills.
