Hong Kong Laureate Forum – School Dialogues Inspiring the Young Future

Ying Wa Girls' School hosted the School Dialogues with Shaw Laureates as part of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum from 5 to 8 November 2025.  This event gave our students and pupils from other schools the chance to take part in inspiring conversations with distinguished Shaw Laureates.

We welcomed four Shaw Laureates (邵逸夫獎得獎者) to the school: Professor Reinhard Genzel (Shaw Laureate in Astronomy 2008), Professor Simon D. M. White (Shaw Laureate in Astronomy 2008), Professor Eva Nogales (Shaw Laureate in Life Science and Medicine 2023), and Professor Kazutoshi Mori (Shaw Laureate in Life Science and Medicine 2014).  Each laureate shared valuable insights and experiences, encouraging our students to explore a wide range of knowledge and to value interdisciplinary learning.  They stressed the importance of staying curious, motivated and open-minded.  The School Dialogues with Shaw Laureates was an exceptional experience that will continue to inspire and support our students as they follow their academic and professional goals.
