Inauguration of New Principal and Opening Service
Our campus is abuzz with excitement and laughter as we warmly welcome new S1 students and other members of the YW family back from their summer holidays.
The first day of school began with the Opening Service and the Inauguration Ceremony for our new principal, Ms Chuk Wai Kan Tiffany. We were honoured to have invited distinguished guests of honour, including Rev Wong Ka Fai (王家輝牧師), the General Secretary of our school sponsoring body, The Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China (HKCCCC), Prof Chiu Lai Har Rebecca (趙麗霞教授), the Acting Supervisor and the School Moderator of the IMC (Incorporated Management Committee) of our school, Rev Kam Siu Wan (金少雲牧師), the IMC member and Rev Lee Shui Man (李瑞文牧師), the Hop Yat Church Hong Kong Church-In-Charge. Also in attendance were Mrs Chau Ma Pui Kin Katherine, Mrs Lee Shek Yuk Yu Ruth, and Mr Kwan Hon Cheung Francis, our well-respected and beloved principals who preceded Ms Chuk.
In her opening address, Prof Chiu officially announced Ms Chuk as our 9th Principal, marking a significant milestone in our school's history. She emphasised the importance of leadership and vision in guiding our school community into the future and encouraged us all to be courageous when facing new challenges. Following her speech, Rev Wong inspired us with a sermon that urged us to live joyfully in the present, leaving our stress and anxiety in God’s hands.
As a symbol of the transition of leadership, Prof Chiu and Mr Kwan passed a wooden cross—an emblem that has been with us since the inception of our school—to Ms Chuk. The ceremony concluded with a heartwarming speech by Ms Chuk, in which she reflected on her journey as an alumna and former teacher at Ying Wa, highlighting how the three former principals shaped her vision and values both personally and professionally. She ended her speech with a call for all Ying Wa girls to serve humbly and shine brightly.
