Inner Mongolia Sustainability Study Tour

From July 28 to August 2, 2025, 39 S4-S5 Geography and Tourism & Hospitality Studies students participated in a highly engaging study tour to Inner Mongolia.   The tour provided an exceptional, hands-on learning experience directly aligned with their curriculum on sustainable development.

Key visits included the region's vast grasslands and deserts, the Yili Dairy factory, the Baotou Iron & Steel Group, and the Inner Mongolia Museum.   These experiences vividly illustrated complex concepts such as desertification, ecotourism, industrialization, and the critical balance between economic growth and environmental conservation.

Beyond the academic curriculum, the tour offered deep cultural immersion.   Students learned basic phrases in the local language, experienced traditional nomadic life by staying in Mongolian yurts, and participated in a tree-planting initiative to help prevent desertification.

The tour successfully deepened students' understanding of China's sustainable development efforts, fostered a greater appreciation for national resources, and inspired a stronger commitment to sustainable practices.   It was both an educational and unforgettable journey.
