Sharing by the Africa Center

The Liberal Studies Department was pleased to have invited guests from the Africa Center to share with classes 6B and 6C on October 6, 2022.  The guests started off by asking students what they thought the missions of the Africa Center were in Hong Kong in terms of rebranding blackness, connecting the communities and having black consciousness.  They then introduced the various African communities in Hong Kong and talked about both the opportunities and challenges they faced.  Despite having obstacles in life, Africans are often able to face them with much strength and courage, especially with the use of art.  The sharing came to an end with an interesting Ndebele postcard making workshop.  Students indeed had a great time learning a different culture while having hands-on experience doing a little bit of artwork.
