Talk by Mr. John Terenzini on the Hong Kong Jellyfish Project

The English Department was delighted to have invited Mr. John Terenzini, who is a member of the Royal Geographical Society and environmental scientist, to speak to our S4 and S5 students about his interest in jellyfish.  Through Mr. Terenzini’s engaging talk, students got to learn many fascinating facts about these beautiful creatures.  They were also introduced to Mr. Terenzini’s passion project which aims to bridge the gap in knowledge of jellyfish in Hong Kong.

Mr. Terenzini is the founder of ‘Hong Kong Jellyfish Project’, a citizen science initiative that invites anyone to contribute observations of jellyfish in Hong Kong waters.  He encouraged students to become ‘citizen scientists’ of their own or even start their own passion project.  By the end of the talk, students came away with a newfound appreciation for jellyfish and were enthralled by Mr. Terenzini’s lively personality.
