Talk by Ms Lee Wai Han Janet

We were delighted to welcome alumna Ms Lee Wai Han Janet (李慧嫻) to speak on the topic “Embracing the Unpredictable: Finding Your Way in a Changing World” while drawing on her experiences at Google.  Embracing curiosity and passion, Ms Lee explored fields such as advertising and sales that she had never considered before.  Despite facing uncertainties and challenges, Ms Lee encouraged students to “choose discomfort” and to embody the qualities of “googleyness”.  “Googleyness” describes an individual who is curious, conscientious and humble.  That person needs to thrive in ambiguity and loves to learn.  Ms Lee empowered students to take pride in their accomplishments and to believe that they are remarkable.  Ms Lee concluded the sharing by urging students to own their narratives and to speak for themselves.
