Thanksgiving Party of To My Nineteen-year-old Self

The documentary ‘To My Nineteen-year-old Self’ was used by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London as one of the seven films to promote Hong Kong films at London East Asia Film Festival from October 19 to 30, 2022.  Recently, it has been voted the best Hong Kong film of 2022 by a panel of critics, the Hong Kong Film Critics Society announced on January 16, 2023.

The official launch of the documentary is coming up on February 2, 2023.  To show our deep appreciation of the unwavering support from students, staff, alumnae, friends of Ying Wa and the production team, a Thanksgiving Party was held on January 28, 2023 at the Robinson Road campus with alumna Director Mabel Cheung (張婉婷導演), the main cast and honourable guests of our Ying Wa family. 

Our Principal, Mr Francis Kwan, thanked the commitment of Mabel, her team and various parties for their concerted efforts made in the long journey of filming, editing, sound mixing, distributing etc.  Our former Principal, Mrs Ruth Lee, also shared how her unpremeditated idea surprisingly turned out to be a miraculous project filled with God’s love and blessings.  

With rounds of applause and appreciation, Mabel complimented the main cast and her team.  The main cast shared their feelings upon returning to the new campus and recalled some memorable moments during the long filming process.
