Sharing by UNICEF Club and Orbis Ambassadors

On 7th March, the Civic Education Committee (CEC) organised a sharing session in the morning assembly to deepen students' understanding towards children with mental and physical disabilities.  It also aimed at empowering students' leadership skills in organising educational activities.  At the beginning of the school year, the CEC cooperated with the two non-governmental organisations, namely UNICEF HK and Orbis Hong Kong, to encourage students to serve as ambassadors to hold student-based activities to promote the values of caring and respecting each other.  The sharing in the morning assembly was one of the programmes only.  Other programmes included fund-raising, board design, school tracing game, etc.

Farewell Assembly 2018

On 5th March (the last school day for graduating classes), the Farewell Assembly was held.  S6 students warmed our hearts with their words of thanks for teachers, schoolmates and all staff members of Ying Wa.  Singing the hymn “I know who holds the future”, they lit each other’s candle to symbolize the continuance of the school’s heritage.  Whilst the candles were lit, the whole school sang a farewell song "誰主明天" to encourage the S6 students to have faith in Jesus when faced with difficulties and to give them our best wishes for their future.

It has become the tradition of Ying Wa since 2013 for S6 students to take photos as a form before their last school day at the decanting campus.  On 28 February, all S6 students, teachers, vice-principals and principal gathered in the open playground to celebrate this milestone.  This occasion was special because the S6 students were the first batch of students to attend school in this decanting campus.
