Adelaide Australia Global Citizenship Programme 2018
Seven S2-3 students were successful in going through all the interviews and were recruited to join the Adelaide Australia Global Citizenship Programme 2018 organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) – Youth Exchange Unit (香港青年協會 – 青年交流部) from 5 to 15 August 2018. Students were engaged in exchange and homestay programmes with local secondary school students and households. Meanwhile, they had an up-close look at Aussie animals like kangaroos, koalas and wallabies and visited the University of Adelaide and the Parliament House.

2018滬港台青少年IT夏令營
中四丁傅名婧、李楚雯、呂穎茵及中四戊鄭芷盈於二零一八年七月廿九日至八月二日參加在上海舉行的2018滬港台青少年IT夏令營。是次活動由香港電腦學會、上海市計算機學會及IMA資訊經理人協會(台灣)共同主辦,並得到電訊盈科及香港電訊贊助。本屆夏令營以「智能服務生活」為主題,通過安排研討會、工作坊及參觀活動等,讓三地青少年進行跨地域文化交流,並了解最新的智能資訊科技如何改善生活素質,以期年輕一代日後能以最新的資訊科技知識回饋社會。四位同學跟三地的IT少年精英聚首一堂,互相交流切磋,有助豐富思維和擴闊視野,機會難得。

Cambridge Programmes (2018)
The Cambridge Programmes (29 July to 11 August 2018) were held successfully with the support of the programme directors, Mr. Peter Clarke and Mrs.

Volleyball Team Training & Exchange Programme in Thailand
From 28 July to 2 August, the Volleyball Team organised a training and exchange programme in Bangkok, Thailand for Ying Wa Volleyball Team players to improve their skills. They had trainings at the FIVB Development Centre with Thai coaches and had friendly matches with Thai players. All the team members and the alumna players learnt a lot through this experience and developed deeper understanding towards the development of volleyball in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

Wooden Furniture Preservation Project
Initiated by our teacher Ms Wong Wai King and the Alumnae Association, the Wooden Furniture Preservation Project is an activity dedicated to the preservation and protection of Ying Wa wooden furniture objects of historical and school value. Miss Wong and the Alumnae Association have been working hard for more than half a year. Our wooden furniture is regarded as an antique to be further restored so that future generations in our Ying Wa family may also enjoy them for educational benefits. On 28 and 29 July 2018, many teachers, students, alumnae, parents and friends of Ying Wa attended a two-day workshop, participating in a large-scale furniture restoration which demonstrated the collective actions taken by the whole Ying Wa family to build the future

Tokyo Science and Technology Study Tour
The Aerial Photography and Technology Team organized a study tour and led thirty S2-4 students to Tokyo, Japan this summer (23 - 27 July, 2018). The themes of the tour are AI (Artificial Intelligence) and VR (Virtual Reality), in which Japan plays a leading role in the world. Students attended workshops organized by Softbank and learnt how to code the AI robot, Pepper. They visited robotic and drone laboratories in Tokyo Institute of Technology (東京工業大學), held a presentation and a discussion with teachers and postgraduates there.

接龍小說得獎小作家 書展分享創作經驗
2017至2018學年接龍小說比賽冠軍隊伍為:周海銘(五乙)、伍穎彤(五乙)、施穎珺(五乙)、鄭淯之(五丙)。四位小作家在香港書展分享創作《從此以後》的經驗。作品講述90年代上海一條弄堂發生的事情:一群面對高考的學生,在家庭、學業、友情及愛情方面跌撞摸索,最終克服困難,走上康莊大道。四位小作家感謝家長、校友、師生到場打氣,給予支持和鼓勵。

Overseas Tours in Summer Holidays 2018
Thanks to the hard work of different committees, departments, teams and interest clubs, a total of five school-based overseas tours were organised during the summer holidays of 2018. Meanwhile, students also took the opportunity to take part in different overseas tours organised by other institutions. All these summer tours shared some common goals – to sharpen students’ leadership skills, explore students’ potential and broaden their horizons. These tours included:
