全國青少年信息學奧林匹克競賽 2023
黃子晴同學 (五丁班) 於二零二二年十二月參加香港電腦奧林匹克競賽(HKOI)決賽,獲得初級組銀獎。其後,黃同學獲邀接受一連串密集的訓練,且以優異表現獲選為香港代表(唯一女代表),於二零二三年七月二十二至二十八日參加在四川省成都市舉行的第四十屆全國青少年信息學奧林匹克競賽(NOI 2023)。本屆參賽者來自全國三十一個省市或自治區以及港澳兩地,各參賽者須於指定時間內即場編寫電腦程式及解決難題。黃同學在是次競賽中與來自全國各地的青少年代表互相切磋,獲益良多。

CUHK Jockey Club Children Eye Care Programme
Thirteen Secondary 5 students joined a service programme on July 22 organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). They helped three-year-old children to take comprehensive eye tests at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital. This CUHK project is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) which aims at advocating proactive and preventive children eye care, with special attention to the under-privileged communities. Not only did the participants learn more the procedures of eye tests, but also it was a meaningful activity to help them understand the importance of health promotion in eye care.

Achievements in HKDSE Examination 2023
We are thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of YW girls in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination 2023. Hung Hiu Tung (6C, 2023) achieved an outstanding 5** in all 7 subjects, including Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and M2. Wong Sum Yi (6C, 2023) and Lam Kwan Tung (6D, 2023) also excelled, attaining 5** in 5 subjects. In recognition of their accomplishments, they have been awarded "Yu Chu Lam Scholarship (庾柱林獎學金)," with Hung Hiu Tung receiving $100,000, and Wong Sum Yi and Lam Kwan Tung receiving $40,000 each. End-of-term Service 2023
The End-of-term Service on July 14 marked the closing of the 2022-2023 school term. In an invigorating speech, our principal, Mr Francis Kwan, eloquently summarized students' remarkable achievements across academics, extra-curricular activities, student development, and the Sister School Scheme. This momentous occasion provided teachers and students with an opportunity to reflect on the year's experiences while eagerly anticipating the upcoming school year. Mr Kwan expressed heartfelt gratitude towards departing teachers, wishing them success in their new endeavours. Joint School Careers Activities
To empower our senior students with more knowledge for their future studies, the Careers Committee of Ying Wa Girls' School, the Careers and Life Planning Team of St Paul's College, and the Careers Team of St Stephen's Girls' College organized two enlightening events. On July 4, the Joint School Careers Fair showcased 25 participating institutions and organizations, facilitating exploration of diverse post-secondary education options. Additionally, the Joint School JUPAS Online Q & A Session on July 12 featured representatives from the JUPAS Office and universities sharing the latest information.

CSD Mainland Study Tour 2023
The first ever S5 Citizenship and Social Development (CSD) Mainland Study Tour was conducted smoothly and successfully on July 12. The tour was sponsored by the Education Bureau and organized by H.C. International Exchange Center (華暢東方文化國際交流有限公司). 137 S5 students and 16 teachers spent a day in Shenzhen to learn about the city’s innovative technology and cultural preservation (深圳創新科技發展及文化保育內地考察).

Summer Programme with Ebenezer School
A group of 29 passionate students from the Interact Club embarked on a remarkable journey by participating in a co-organized summer programme with Ebenezer School, exemplifying the essence of compassion and service. With meticulous planning, they orchestrated captivating mass games and curated thoughtful game booths, creating an atmosphere brimming with joy, fostering genuine connections and embracing inclusivity.

Speech Day 2023
The annual Speech Day was held on July 11 at the Silcocks Hall. Our Principal, Mr Francis Kwan, welcomed parents and congratulated the graduates on their successful completion of their secondary school education.
