S5 Pre-JUPAS Conference 2023

To equip our S5 students with essential knowledge to prepare for their JUPAS application, the S5 Pre-JUPAS Conference was held on 3 July 2023 by the Careers Committee.   The event provided valuable guidance and insights to students as they are considering their university choices.  In the conference, our alumnae shared their study tips for the DSE and first-hand experiences of making informed choices.  It also included an introduction to various disciplines at local and overseas institutions.  Students gained a deeper understanding of the diverse academic paths available to them.

Study Tour to Guangzhou

A two-day-one-night tour to Guangzhou took place on 1-2 July 2023.  Led by two history and Chinese history teachers, along with two alumna helpers, a group of twenty-seven Secondary 4 and 6 students visited historically important sites such as the Generalissimo's Mansion (大元帥府), the Sacred Heart Cathedral (石室聖心大教堂), and the former site of Huangpu Military Academy (黃埔軍校舊址).  The tour aimed to provide students with valuable insights into historical landmarks and deepen their understanding of Chinese history.

S2 STEM Day

The S2 STEM Day was one of the end-of-term activities in which all the S2 participated in different STEM activities, including two new experiences, Flight Simulation and Metaverse.

During the Flight Simulation activity, students learned about the physics of flight and had the opportunity to act as pilots, flying and landing virtual planes at the Hong Kong International Airport.  Equally mesmerizing was the Metaverse workshop, where students were granted unprecedented access to the innovative realm of virtual reality design.

Xu Lok Yi (5C) was honoured with the Princeton Club of Hong Kong Book Award 2023.  This prestigious annual award recognizes students in Hong Kong who excel in academic achievements, intellectual curiosity, commitment to serve the community and leadership excellence.

Sharing by Ms Charlize Narag

The Citizenship & Social Development (CSD) Department was very excited to have invited alumna Ms Charlize Narag (S6 graduate of 2021) to share the Filipino culture with classes 4A and 4C on June 26.  Have a Filipino origin, Charlize was born and raised in Hong Kong.  She shared how she struggled with her confusing senses of identity as a teenager and how she finally came to embrace her multiple identities now.  She prides herself as being the sole translator for her family and she enjoys this unique role.  In a light-hearted side, Charlize shared with the classes interesting Filipino culture such as food, the way to greet an elderly, the beautiful landscape of the Philippines, Christmas celebrations etc.  What was more, she answered questi

26th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR (National Flag Hoisting Ceremony)

The National Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held on June 26, 2023 to celebrate the 26th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People’s Republic of China.  The Civic Education Committee chose the theme “The Challenges and Opportunities of the HKSAR in 2023” to foster students’ sense of national identity.  During the ceremony, two Secondary 3 students discussed the impact of COVID-19 in Putonghua on various aspects of Hong Kong society, including its economy and unemployment rate.

Wellness Week & Sharing at the EDB

“Wellness Week”, held from February 20 to 24, 2023, was organized by the Guidance Committee in order to prioritize students’ mental health, foster positive emotions and thinking, and train student leaders to deliver constructive messages.  The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 8 voluntary assistants from the Guidance Committee, alongside the Head and Deputy Head Prefects.  Throughout the week dedicated to wellness, student leaders organised engaging activities such as talks, interactive games and other expressive mediums to encourage mindfulness, to facilitate open expression of feelings and to promote empathy towards others.

Awards of the Exhibition of Student Visual Arts Work 2022/23

The Visual Arts Department participated in the Exhibition of Student Visual Arts Work 2022/23, organized by the Curriculum Development Institute of the Education Bureau. The exhibition aims to display and acknowledge students’ accomplishments in visual arts.  The award presentation ceremony was held on June 14.
