Animal Therapy Programme (2021-2022)

We were happy to have invited Hong Kong Animal Assisted Therapy Association (香港動物輔助治療協會) to organize animal therapy sessions on October 27 and November 28.  Animal therapy, also known as pet therapy or animal assisted therapy, refers to various services using animals to help people.  Animals can help people immensely, from providing comfort and reducing boredom to improve our mood and general well-being. Through this experiential learning, students learnt to interact with therapy dogs.  The therapy dogs are typically trained pets with a gentle temperament. Not only did students enjoy their time with the therapy dogs, the therapy dogs also seemed to enjoy spending time with students as well.

Class Assembly Series (2021-2022)

After a pause of two years, students and teachers of Ying Wa tingled with excitement as they welcomed the return of the beloved tradition of class assembly.  On October 27, Class 5A kicked off the class assembly series and they brought teachers and students with an amazing drama performance about a self-absorbed high-school girl discovering the importance of kindness.  The drama captivated the audience with an intriguing plot, convincing acting and most importantly the message of being kind to family and friends.

In the weeks to come, other classes in S5 will put on their show in honour of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit — love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

High Events for S1 (2021-2022)

All S1 students got to join the High Events coached by the volunteers of the Hong Kong Police Rope Course Club and Novel Experience Consultancy Limited between October and December.  Students were challenged to climb on high ropes either with their classmates or all on their own.  Through this kind of experiential learning, students learned to get out of their comfort zone, to persevere and to be courageous and supportive to each other.  We truly appreciate the Guidance Committee, all S1 class teachers and guidance of the Hong Kong Police Rope Course Club and Novel Experience Consultancy Limited in leading this meaningful personal development programme.
