Cultural Exchange Programme with Ying Wa College and Shanghai

In order to cultivate strong national identity and motivate students to engage in exchange programmes, our girls and students from Ying Wa College (YWC) participated in a cultural exchange programme with No.1 High School Affiliated to Tongji University, Shanghai on October 15.  Coordinated by YWC, the programme was held successfully.  Students were divided into groups to share interesting topics such as the backgrounds of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and Shanghai, food and festivals enjoyed by people from both Hong Kong and Shanghai.  Our students got a chance to brush up on their Putonghua in an authentic situation.  What is more, students from both cities got to be exposed to each other’s culture while appreciating cultural diversities at the same time.   It was indeed a valuable experience and students were looking forward to participating in the next cultural exchange event.
