Opening Service 2024

A very warm welcome back to school!  The highly anticipated new school year began with the Opening Service on Sept 2 with the Principal’s inspiring speech.  Mr Kwan recalled unique people and incidents at the Paris Olympics to highlight the thrills and unforgettable moments.  He further reminded students that YWGS stood for Yes We Go and Serve.  Ms Tse, the advisor of the Interact Club, had that clearly illustrated by giving us a glimpse of the club’s Watoto Service Trip to Uganda in July.  What’s more, Mr Leung, the panel-chairperson of the Music Department, showed that YWGS could also represent Yes We Go and Sing.  He shared precious moments of the Tokyo Music Tour held in July.  Last but not least, YWGS also means Yes We Go and Shine.  Mr Kwan echoed that phrase with the school goal and encouraged students to Embrace the unknown, Empower with confidence, Enlighten with new skills and Engage in a new activity.  The 3 Vice-Principals, Ms Chow, Ms Chau and Mr Ng, concluded the Opening Service with tips and encouragement.  Not only were students given learning tips and be reminded of the importance of heritage education and sustainable development, but they were also inspired to seek joy and happiness in life.
