S6 Poverty Simulation Workshop by ICE
The Citizenship and Social Development (CSD) Department invited Inter-Cultural Education (ICE) to conduct poverty simulation workshops for all S6 classes in November and December 2024. Throughout these sessions, students had the opportunity to reflect on pressing issues such as poverty, unfair trade practices, and social inequality within the context of economic globalization. They were able to connect and apply the knowledge acquired in the CSD curriculum to a “real-life” scenario in the simulation, supported by professional guidance, authentic props, and interactive activities. Students were highly engaged in the role-play, discussions, and sharing. The overall atmosphere was one of joy and enlightenment. It is hoped that through this workshop, the values of the common good of humankind, empathy, fairness, human rights and responsibility, and sustainable development could be effectively conveyed.
