The Nightingale DVD
The 115th Anniversary musical, The Nightingale, won heartwarming applause and raised more than $2 million for the School Redevelopment Fund when it was staged in July 2015. DVD copies of the performance are now available for members of the Ying Wa family to keep as memorable recollection of the meaningful event. The wonderful performance, result of concerted efforts of a team of 200 students and teachers, on stage and behind the scene, is also well worth watching again.

YWGS Football Team
Great news for soccer fans! YWGS Football Team was formed this academic year (2015-2016) by a group of enthusiastic students, with the aim to promote “the beautiful game”, polish their skills and develop their stamina. 13 students were recruited for the pioneer team. Loo Tak Yu (5B), who is a member of Hong Kong Women U18 Representative Team, is taking the lead to train our new team in school every Friday, from 4:00 – 6:30 pm. The team will take part in several competitions in the near future. Do show your support!
Exchange Programme with Korean students
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) invited Ying Wa Girls’ School and Ying Wa College to play host to 38 Korean secondary school students.
The Korean students, 18 Ying Wa boys and 19 Ying Wa girls gathered at our school to play ice-breaking games on 26 February 2016. Then, Ying Wa boys and girls took the visitors on a guided tour of Mei Ho House, Ap Liu Street Market, Dragon Centre in West Kowloon, etc. to introduce the local culture of Sham Shui Po. The Korean students performed modern and traditional dances to express their appreciation. The exchange programme was enjoyable and rewarding for all involved.
High Achievers’ Award Ceremony 2016
The 24 February assembly was dedicated to the scholastically outstanding students from S1 - S5 whose performance in the Mid-year Examination or Test set the bar for others to emulate. In addition to the presentation of awards, a forum was held by five representatives, namely Chan Wai Chi Susanna (4C), Yip Pui Lam Regina (4D), Leung Tin Yan Angel (4E), Cheng Ka Yu Cherri (5C) and Tsang Wing Yan Emily (5A) to share their learning strategies with their schoolmates. They gave tips on how to overcome negative emotions to persevere, how to manage time with discipline and how to prioritize so as to balance their studies and extra-curricular activities.
普通話日
今年的普通話日於2月24日圓滿舉行。為了增加活動的吸引力,並讓更多同學參與,今年除了一貫的攤位遊戲外,還新增了老師表演和有獎問答環節。同學都踴躍參與,甚至與台上老師齊聲高唱,氣氛熱烈。
Open Prayer Meeting
With the guidance and care from God and the support of the Prayer Sub-committee, our redevelopment project has been overcoming different hurdles and there is always bright light shining on every Ying Wa corner. With the united spirit of Ying Wa family, we join hands together to pray for every success of the whole Redevelopment Project. Visit to The Legislative Council
The Civic Education Committee and the Liberal Studies Department joined hands to take 45 S4 students on a visit to the Legislative Council (Legco) on 6 February, 2016. A guided tour was offered by the Legco. Students visited the Public Gallery of the Chamber, Viewing Gallery and Access Corridor, Memory Lane, etc. At the end, students participated in a simulation game to understand the process of the legislation procedure. It was a rewarding experience for all.

亞洲單車賽
五乙班馬燕茹同學在日本伊豆參加亞洲單車賽。 2016年1月19日,馬燕茹在女子青年組捕捉賽勇奪銀牌。2016年1月20日,馬燕茹在女子青年組個人計時賽 (全程11.2公里) 以17分26秒22再奪銀牌。2016年1月27日,馬燕茹跟其他三位香港女子青年單車代表在團體追逐賽取得佳績,成功為港隊摘得一面銅牌。
