Fund-raising Concert 2017
When love and music come together, we are in the presence of grace. We cordially invite you to join us for an evening of music for a good cause. Our Orchestra and Choirs would be deeply grateful for the opportunity to perform for you and play their part for the school redevelopment.
Many of you may remember their beautiful voices and mesmerizing music in "The Nightingale", and look forward to enjoying more of the same. Here is the chance. Celebrate with us the musical talents of Ying Wa in our Fund-raising Concert 2017 at the CCC Congregational Church (Causeway Bay) on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at 7:30 pm.
精英賽奪得季軍 排球隊努力獲肯定
排球隊於2016年12月28至31日參加本年度學界精英排球比賽，首兩場均以局數二比零取勝，順利晉身四強。在半準決賽，排球隊雖未能取勝，但面對強勁對手 ─ 上屆亞軍賽馬會體藝中學，仍然鬥志高昂，積極進攻、防守，表現保持水準。賽事結束，英華女排取得季軍，成績令人鼓舞，隊員有信心在下屆比賽爭取更佳表現。

Christmas Service and Variety Show 2016
The speaker at our Christmas Service, Mr Enoch Victor Cheng, Preacher at Hop Yat Church, captivated his teenaged audience by asking about chasing stars. However his focus was not on contemporary glitterati of K-pop; he had an illuminating take on the journey of the Magi, guided by a star, more than two millennia ago. The three wise men who welcomed the infant Jesus recognized Him when others could not. Their discernment is a quality we should cultivate in order to see the Truth. Our Junior Choir gave an uplifting rendition of Christmas hymns and representatives of the Christian Fellowship read from the scriptures.
舞蹈隊慈善演出
本校舞蹈隊於上學年比賽成績優異，獲第五十一屆香港工展會邀請參與活動。十二月十八日，舞蹈隊於維多利亞公園會場表演中國舞，為「地中海貧血兒童基金會」籌款，場面熱鬧。是次活動能以所學參與善舉，為地中海貧血兒童出一分力，別具意義。
Theatre Exposure – Promotion of the musical "Wicked"
Miss Emily Shaw, principal cast member of Wicked was gracious enough to share the stage with two lucky students on 13 December 2016! Danessa Torralba (4A) and Amy Lo (4E) were privileged to get the chance to interview and perform with her, to the delight of around 500 schoolmates.
Theatre representatives of this world-renowned musical gave us insights into professional theatre production as part of their promotion in Hong Kong. Teachers and students also participated actively in the vocal warm-up exercises and Emily praised students for their thought-provoking questions. It was an entertaining and inspiring OLE for all.
製作旗袍 認識傳統工藝
由中西區區議會、中西區民政事務署、第十二屆中西區區節統籌委員會主辦，香港中西區婦女會協辦之旗袍設計工作坊，是第十二屆中西區區節的其中一項活動。本校32位中三至中五級同學參加是次活動，通過設計、修改和加工旗袍，認識旗袍製作工藝，並親身體驗當中的巧妙之處。過程中，由選擇材料、度身、車縫線位，到最後由其中8位同學擔當模特兒，穿上傑出作品，於西港城大舞台之「掌上明珠‧旗袍薈」巾幗活力旗袍展作公開展演，實在是一次難忘的經驗。
Inter-school Volleyball Competition (Grade A)
The Volleyball Teams of Ying Wa Girls' School and Shun Tak Fraternal Association Cheng Yu Tung Secondary School entered the final round of Inter-school Volleyball Competition (Grade A). The competition was held on 11th December 2016 at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park Sports Centre. The tournament was a brilliant one, with both teams giving a truly memorable and outstanding performance. Our Volleyball Team finally emerged as the first runner-up. Congratulations!
Toastmasters Speech Contests 16-17
The Toastmaster Speech and Table Topics Contests were held at school on 3 December. The contests are held every year to enable students to demonstrate the communication and leadership skills they have acquired in the Toastmasters Youth Leadership Programme. This year, there were 36 contestants from Secondary 2 to 4, 10 student workers and 7 judges, who were from Toastmasters International. The event provided an opportunity and platform for students to shine and share their wonderful speeches with the audience.
