Health in Mind Programme

Fifteen S4 students volunteered to participate in the 'Health in Mind' Project, a two-year programme about mental health. Students attended the orientation day and participated in 6 workshops to learn about the root of mental illness, and acquire the right attitude and necessary skills to get along with people with mental issues in the beginning of the school year. In addition, they organized different games and baked cookies together with the rehabilitating patients.

A morning assembly was held and a games booth was organized to share with schoolmates on the knowledge and skills they had learnt. With this experience, students were able to bring cheer to the Western District when they operated the games booth at Smithfield Sports Centre for residents there.

This project was organised by We R Family Foundation (幼吾幼慈善基金). As a result of the programme, it was observed that many primary school students improved their confidence and motivation because they could ask more questions about their studies and receive support from our volunteers. It was a truly rewarding experience for all.

39th Athletics Meet

The annual Sports Day took place early at Wanchai Sports Ground and attracted many participants from students, teachers and parents. The weather failed to dampen everyone’s spirits on 21 September; the athletes, cheering teams and workers braved the rain to carry on in true sportsmanship. Jenkins House emerged as overall champion and quite a few records were broken, for example in the 1500-metre event. All were winners that day as we stepped out of our comfort zone.

S.A. and Inter-house Elections 2015

Campaigning for the Student Association (S.A.) and Inter-house Committee was intense from the first day of school.  Candidates from Vega and Canvas distributed promotional materials and canvassed for votes every morning and lunchtime. After viewing their promotion videos and listening to their platforms, students took part in a question and answer session during OLE to grill those running on the finer details of their proposals. The principal praised everyone for their enthusiasm.

The votes were cast on Monday with the majority supporting the cabinet of Canvas. The Inter-house team, Ixora, was unopposed but had little time to rest on their laurels. They assumed their duty immediately because Sports Day was held a day after the elections.
