Open Prayer Meeting
The School Redevelopment Open Prayer Meeting gathered together friends of Ying Wa in the school hall on 23rd April 2016.
The alumnae choir kicked off the meeting by singing two blissful hymns. A report on the redevelopment process was shared. Everyone was thankful for the uncountable blessings and omnipresent guidance from our Heavenly Father. Apart from the redevelopment project, prayers were offered for the smooth running of the school as we approach the end of term. We believe that all hurdles can be overcome by faith.

S3 Open Forum – Your Say
An open forum was held by the Life Education Committee on 22 April 2016. It aimed at encouraging S3 students to develop their confidence and public speaking skills. All S3 classes were invited and they took part in the open forum actively. Each class chose a social issue and presented on the positive and negative impacts of that issue. Besides this presentation, each class prepared questions on other issues to ask after the presentations of other classes. The atmosphere was interactive and good responses from the audience were received. At the end of the activity, students were encouraged by the two adjudicators, MrFranics Kwan (Principal) and Ms Chow Siu Fung (Vice-principal), to apply the skills acquired in the open forum in their

Inter-school Basketball Competition
Our Basketball team fought off an intense challenge from South Island School in the Inter-school Basketball Competition (Division 1, HK Island) on 22nd April 2016. Our C Grade team amazed the spectators with their unyielding spirit and solidarity to finally emerge as the Champion. On top of that, our Basketball team was crowned the overall Champion in the tournament. Congratulations to all players for the impressive performance!

Teacher-student Friendly Games - Dodgeball
The Sports Committee of the Student Association (Canvas) organized two friendly matches, namely dodgeball and soccer, on 20th and 22nd April respectively. Each team in the dodgeball game was formed by teachers and students whereas the soccer game was a friendly match between male teachers and the new Ying Wa Football Team. Spectators cheered on the players from the three surrounding blocks and the stone steps around the quadrangle, livening up the lunchtime atmosphere.
Joint-School Mock DSE Visual Arts Examination
About 30 Visual Arts students from St. Louis School, St. Stephen's College, Kowloon True Light School and Ying Wa Girls' School sat for Joint-school Mock DSE Visual Arts Paper I Exam. Students had the opportunity to experience a more authentic public examination setting, which helped them prepare for the real DSE. Students also learned more about useful examination skills and how to be better prepared.

YWGS First-ever Spring Bazaar
As the highlight of fundraising events for school redevelopment, Ying Wa Girls’ School held an unprecedented Spring Bazaar on March 19. It was initiated and sponsored by alumnae. Thousands of products, ranging from handmade scarves to abalone, were sold at bargain prices. Alongside the bazaar were student performances and founder's day service. Nearly 10,000 students, alumnae, parents and teachers came and supported the event, contributing over $1.7M for the redevelopment of the Robinson Road campus.
