Korea and DongGuan Tours

The Student Association and the Civic Education Committee held a sharing session on two summer programmes, Koreaction (Exchange Tour in South Korea) and DongGuan Service Tour. The Koreaction group presented the topics on Korean history, food and popular culture. The Service Tour group shared the views over the importance of having a serving heart and understanding the motherland with the theme on the “San Nong” issue.

333 Service Programme

Ying Wa has a tradition for the service of others. This year, students volunteered to join the 333 Service Programme organised by “We R Family Foundation” 幼吾幼慈善基金. On every Friday evening, they will go to a primary school in the Sham Shui Po district to help students in their homework assignments.

Talk by Dr. Joseph Ting

Dr. Joseph Ting (丁新豹博士), one of the most distinguished expert of recent Chinese and Hong Kong history and the former Chief Curator of Hong Kong Museum of History, came to talk to our students about the "Heritage Treasures in Sham Shui Po" on 6 Nov 2013. His educational and interesting presentation was eye-opening and insightful. Dr. Ting will lead two guided tours later to our alumnae and students in December 2013 and January 2014.

PTA AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association was successfully held on 2 November 2013. The election of Parent Managers took place right after the meeting and also on 4 November.

Educational Exchange Programme

4 students accompanied by their teacher, Ms. Audrey Poon from CHIJ (school in Singapore) visited YWGS from 28 Oct - 1 Nov 2013. This annual twinning programme gave students a precious opportunity to learn together during lessons and explore different cultures through some excursions.

Health Talk

The student assistants of the Civic Education Committee and the Christian Fellowship held a whole-school talk and hymn sharing with the theme on “A healthy lifestyle in Shamshuipo (健康「深」靈)” in the afternoon assembly on 25th October, 2013. The talk helped Ying Wa students and teachers deepen the understanding of the Shamshuipo community and maintain a better lifestyle in physical and mental health.

High Event for S1

Secondary one students joined the High Rope Training with the help of the Hong Kong Police Rope Course Club. Through this experiential activity, students learned to face challenges and cultivated a sense of belonging with their classmates.
