Photography Exhibition: The Melting Greenland Ice Sheet by Dr Wendy Lam

We were thrilled to present a photography exhibition featuring the stunning work of Dr Wendy Lam, an esteemed alumna renowned for her extraordinary contributions to the world of photography.   During the opening ceremony on May 26 at 1:30 PM, held outside the art room, Dr Lam shared her experiences capturing breathtaking images of Greenland and discussed the urgent issues of global warming and environmental protection.

Chinese Culture Quiz

The Grand Final of the Chinese Culture Quiz, organized by the Chinese Department, Chinese History Department, History Department, Civic Education Committee, and the Self-access Centre, was held on May 23, 2025. 

Classes 2B, 3B, and 3E advanced to the Grand Final and were determined to compete for the championship.  Challenging questions covered Chinese history, literature, culture, and the Basic Law were asked.  The three strong teams were first required to answer compulsory questions set for each team.  Then they competed in the “team race-to-answer” section.  After two rounds of competition, Class 3B secured the championship.

Swimming Gala 2025 - Album 2

Students of YW enjoyed an energetic day of aquatic fun as the school gathered at Victoria Park Swimming Pool for our annual Swimming Gala.   Our swimmers did their very best to beat their own records and contribute to their respective houses, while their house members cheered them on in the stands.  

The event kicked off with an inspiring speech from our Vice-principal, Mr Ng Wing Wo, who shared his own athletic journey and encouraged students to persist on theirs.

Cantonese Public Speaking Contest

The Cantonese Public Speaking Contest, organized by the Civic Education Committee, was held on May 21.  With great anticipation, three finalists showcased their oratorical eloquence and critical thinking skills by sharing their perspectives on hot topics and important values.

2024-25 UNESCO UNSDGs Debating Competition - First Runner-up

A team of S4 students was awarded First Runner-up at the grand finals of the UNESCO UNSDGs Debating Competition held at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) on May 20, 2025.

The students—Chan Tsz Yau Dion (4B), Siu Hoi Yan (4E), and Wong Hoi Ying Sophia (4E)—won three rounds of debates, ultimately securing their spot in the finals.  In the championship round, they debated against the motion of “Bamboo scaffolding should be retained in Hong Kong.”  The debaters showcased exceptional skills in crafting counter-arguments and articulating their points with clarity and eloquence.

S4 History Fieldtrip in Central and Western District

Our S4 History students had an enriching walking tour in the Central and Western District, guided by Professor Ting Sun Pao Joseph (丁新豹教授), our History and Heritage Education Consultant.  During the tour, students explored the urban landscape of early Hong Kong, gaining insights into the rich history, architectural and cultural significance of the area.

Future Architects: Girls in STEAM Challenge Competition

Two students, Cheung Ching Yu Yora (3C) and Tsang Hin Ching (3D), won the second runner-up in the Future Architects: Girls in STEAM Challenge Competition.

This competition required students to build a city in Roblox Studio based on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Objective 11, which focuses on sustainable community development.

Over the past two months, our school team attended workshops, built their city, and presented their work.   In the final round, students completed a coding task, presented their project, and participated in a Q&A session with the judges.
