Singing Contest 2024 (Album 1)

The Singing Contest 2024 was a highly anticipated event at our school, aimed at fostering student participation in music activities.  Serving as a platform for students to showcase their talents, the contest attracted enthusiastic contestants from various classes, starting from Secondary 2 and above.  The competition featured both solo and group singing performances, allowing for a diverse range of musical expressions to be showcased.

Furthermore, the contest encouraged students to exhibit their instrumental skills by playing music live during their performances.  This not only added variety to the event but also showcased the students' versatility and musicality.

Careers Fair 2023-2024

At the Careers Fair 2023-2024 hosted by St Paul's College on July 4, our students had the opportunity to meet and engage with representatives from local and overseas universities, cultural organisations, and professional bodies.  The event served as a platform for students to gain valuable insights into various higher education options and diverse career pathways.  Their active participation facilitated meaningful conversations and the exchange of ideas, empowering them to shape their future aspirations and goals.

3rd Runner-up of Japanese Knowledge Competition

A team of 3 students from Secondary 5B (Tsang Lok Lam, Ng She Ting, Xu Ruo Lin) achieved the 3rd runner-up position in the Japanese Knowledge Competition for Secondary Schools in Hong Kong (全港中學生日本常識問答比賽).  The competition, organised jointly by the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong and Mu Kuang English School, took place on July 4.  17 secondary school teams participated in the competition.  Both the preliminary and final rounds were held on the same afternoon, making it an intense event.  The competition tested the participants' knowledge of Japanese society, language, traditional and popular culture.

Students’ Day 2024

The Students' Day at Ying Wa is an annual event that unites students and aims to foster their leadership, problem-solving, business skills, and creativity.  This enjoyable day was held on July 3, filled with enlightening events and cultural activities.  It would not have been a success without the efforts of the 75th Student Association, Solidarite.  With the theme "Amicalilis," the Students' Day aimed to cultivate a warm and friendly campus environment that embraced new ideas and unleashes creativity.  Additionally, the Parent-teacher Association decorated two game stalls for students to enjoy various games and activities.  The day reached its climax as our teachers surprised everyone with their impressive singing and magic performances.

Winner of AAHK Essay Competition

Leung Tsoi Lam Phoebe (S5C) has emerged victorious in the Access Abroad Hong Kong Essay Competition, winning an all-expenses-paid trip to Cambridge and London.  Organized by Access Abroad Hong Kong (AAHK) in partnership with Christ College, Cambridge, and sponsored by Cathay Pacific, the competition saw Phoebe as one of four winners from 200 participants and the sole winner in the humanities section.  Her essay examined whether government mandates or market mechanisms should play a greater role in reducing carbon emissions.  During the week-long trip, she attended mock supervisions, taster lectures, toured colleges, and engaged with current students, gaining invaluable insights into university life.

S5 Pre-JUPAS Conference 2024

The S5 Pre-JUPAS Conference was held on July 2 and it aims at providing valuable insights and guidance to students regarding DSE preparation and university choices.  The event featured a diverse range of speakers, including S6 graduates, alumnae, and teachers.  S6 graduates shared invaluable tips on DSE exam preparation, offering practical advice and strategies.  Alumnae and teachers also shared their personal experiences of university life, providing insights into different majors and minors.  The conference provided students with a comprehensive understanding of university options, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their future academic paths.

History and THS Study Tour to Guangzhou

A two-day-one-night tour to Guangzhou was organized by the History and Tourism & Hospitality Studies (THS) Departments from June 30 to July 1.  Led by four teachers, twenty-six Secondary 4 and 5 students visited significant sites such as the Generalissimo's Mansion (大元帥府), the Guangdong Museum (廣東省博物館), and Shamian Island (沙面島).  The tour aimed to provide students with valuable insights into historical landmarks, deepen their understanding of China's modern history, and explore the tourism development in Guangzhou.

Cultural Study Ambassador Training Camp

Fourteen S4 and S5 students took part in a two-day-one-night Cultural Study Ambassador Training Camp (文化考察大使) at the Jao Tsung-I Academy (饒宗頣文化館) on June 29 and 30.  The training camp was jointly organized by the Chinese History and Civic and Social Development (CSD) Departments.  Through various workshops and activities, students gained insights into Chinese culture and historical preservation from multiple perspectives.  The camp also provided a comprehensive understanding of national security education, emphasizing cultural security.  Students had the opportunity to appreciate the value of Chinese culture and art, understand the achievements of Chinese masters, and learn about the history and social development of Hong Kong.
