Sharing session by Ms Michelle Lee
We had the honour of welcoming our alumna, Ms Michelle Lee, to Ying Wa on September 26th. Ms Lee is a well-respected art curator who kindly shared her amazing journey with our Visual Arts students. Her visit brought new inspiration to our creative community and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. During her talk, Ms Lee discussed her path to her current important role. She explained how she organizes art exhibitions and captivated our students with the process of turning an idea into a stunning display of artwork. She specifically mentioned the Chu Tat Shing Art Exhibition (朱達誠藝術作品展), which took place in exciting cities like Los Angeles and later Toronto during the summer.

Sports Day (Final) 2023
The highly anticipated Sports Day (Final) took place at the Wan Chai Sports Ground. The event kicked off with an inspiring speech by Vice-Principal Mr Cho Kong Sang, who illustrated the advantages and benefits of sports by emphasizing the crucial role sports play in maintaining physical strength and endurance while also directly contributing to our academic success.
The highlight of the final was undoubtedly the electrifying 4 x 100m parents, staff, and students relay. It was heartwarming to witness the remarkable teamwork displayed by all participants. While all teams performed exceptionally well, one of the parents' teams edged out and took home the champion title.

SA and Inter-house Election 2023-2024 (2nd assembly)
The second assembly related to the election took place on September 15th, providing our students with a remarkable opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions with our esteemed student leaders. This assembly was a valuable and transformative experience, as it facilitated a powerful lesson in accountability for our potential leaders.
The significance of this assembly lies in the realization that leadership comes with the responsibility of being accountable and true to what has been shared with the entire school community. By challenging our students to address pertinent questions and concerns, we are cultivating a culture of transparency and integrity that will shape their future leadership roles.

Sports Day (Heats) 2023
Blessed with good weather throughout, our Sports Day (Heats) was successfully held at the Wan Chai Sports Ground on September 13. The opening ceremony, graced by Principal Mr Francis Kwan, was accompanied by a motivating address from Mr Ng Wing Wo, emphasizing the importance of friendship and joy in sports participation. The Sports Day proceeded smoothly, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and personal excellence from our students. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and high spirits as participants competed in various events. We eagerly await the Sports Day (Final), where we will come together to celebrate more achievements and team spirit.

SA and Inter-house Election 2023-2024
At Ying Wa, we uphold the noble tradition of empowering students to realize their potential through service and leadership. This year, 17 dedicated students formed the Student Association (SA) cabinet “Solidarite” with the slogan “Empathy in Unity”, while another group of 10 students established the Inter-house cabinet “Chatoyant” with the slogan “Uncover your radiance”. With a shared passion for service, these student leaders embraced Ying Wa’s traditions and inspired their peers to cultivate confidence and unlock their own leadership capabilities. Their efforts have strengthened the spirit of unity, fostering a deeper connection between the SA and the five houses of Ying Wa.

Bronze Award in HEPC 2023
The Health Exhibition Presentation Competition (HEPC) was organized by the Medical Society of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). It required participants to choose their own topics based on the theme "Recent Developments in Gastrointestinal Research." Participants had to complete a project statement, a report, and an oral presentation as they progress through the three rounds of the competition: the Screening Round, the Preliminary Round, and the Grand Final Round.

Inauguration of Prefects 2023
The investiture of 73 new prefects took place on Sept 6 during the morning assembly. Head Prefect Tam Hoi Yan (5E) and Deputy Head Prefect Poon Nok Yi (5D) pledged on behalf of the Prefect Board to serve the school wholeheartedly and with a humble heart. Prefects are responsible for maintaining discipline in school, creating an environment conducive to learning, and passing on positive values. Moreover, the Good Class Scheme will continue in order to remind students to be punctual, to maintain discipline and cleanliness in school, and to behave properly.

Opening Service 2023
Happy back-to-school time! The annual Opening Service on September 4 signified a fresh beginning of a new academic year.
