Ying Wa Good Show (Nov 2022)

Cultivating students’ passion for performing arts has long been a Ying Wa tradition.  Students get ample opportunities to explore their potentials in artistic expression and showcase their talents in the various platforms provided by the school.  One of the much valued platforms is the Ying Wa Good Show.  Thanks to the Music Department and the Self-access Centre, the show was held successfully on November 22.  It was a big hit with performances ranging from music to English drama to K-pop.  The talented, enchanting and graceful performers for sure captivated both teachers and students.  We simply can’t wait for the next Ying Wa Good Show in the second term.

Sharing by Rudaba Rubaiyath in LS lessons

The Liberal Studies (LS) Department invited alumna Rudaba Rubaiyath to share with three S6 classes on October 19 and 20, 2022.  Born in Bangladesh, Rudaba moved to Hong Kong at a young age.  Upon graduating from Ying Wa, she is now studying medicine at the University of Hong Kong.  Rudaba explained the opportunities and challenges she had faced as a third culture kid.  Third culture kids are people who are raised in a culture different from that of their parents’ and who have lived in a different environment during significant part of their child development years.  Rudaba ended her sharing by passing on a very positive message:  The stories, perspectives and experiences each of us have are too vast and complex to be condensed into one si
